From Vision to Reality

Our Timeline #history

Before becoming part of The Mad Brewer Pub Company, this much-loved local was known as The Chip & Pin.

Its history and character laid the foundations for everything that would come next.

Every great pub is built by passionate people.

Nathan wasn't just preparing to manage Bank of Beers, he was instrumental in building it, proving that everyone at The Mad Brewer plays their part from the very beginning.

Before the first pint was poured, we used the existing furniture to map out the new bar and seating areas.

Every decision was carefully considered to create a pub that feels welcoming, spacious and built for great conversation.

Designed by the brilliant Mick Usher of Mick Usher Illustrations, our logos and graphics give each pub its own identity while tying them together as part of The Mad Brewer family. His creativity and imagination have been instrumental in bringing our vision to life.

The bar is the heart of every great pub.

As the framework came together, the vision for Bank of Beers started to become something you could finally walk into, imagine, and soon enjoy.

A pub should have a personality of its own.

From bespoke graphics to one-of-a-kind feature pieces, every finishing touch was chosen to create a space that's as memorable as the people who visit it.

First impressions matter.

Our bespoke frosted windows proudly introduced the Bank of Beers name while preserving the building's historic charm, creating a frontage that felt both elegant and unmistakably ours.

As the handcrafted bar came together, sunlight cast the Bank of Beers name across the reclaimed timber.

It was a moment that perfectly captured the transformation from idea to reality.

Small changes often make the biggest difference.

Opening up the archways allowed light to flow naturally through the pub, creating a brighter, more inviting atmosphere while preserving the building's original character.

The transformation extended beyond the doors.

Restoring the exterior gave the building a renewed sense of pride, preserving its heritage while creating a welcoming first impression for everyone passing by.

Every detail tells a story.

Our handcrafted tables were individually branded with the Bank of Beers emblem, creating a lasting reminder that quality and craftsmanship can be found in every corner of the pub.

Every great pub has people behind it who care deeply about the details.

Nathan handcrafted the bar, bench seating and bespoke shelving, creating features that give Bank of Beers its unique character and lasting quality.

A great team deserves great workwear.

In partnership with the fantastic team at Pennline, we created custom uniforms that completed the Bank of Beers identity and gave our staff a look they could wear with pride.

Nothing was left to chance.

From the position of the shelves to the display above the taps, every element was carefully planned to create a bar that balanced craftsmanship, functionality and character.

A great pint deserves a comfortable place to enjoy it.

We partnered with the fantastic team at Peppermill Interiors to find seating that perfectly balanced style, comfort and durability, creating a space guests never want to leave.

What began as an idea had become a place to be proud of.

Every handcrafted detail, every carefully chosen finish and every design decision came together to create the Bank of Beers we know and love today.
